Dear Friends and Supporters,

It is with great sadness that I announce my decision to suspend my campaign for Congress, due to health reasons.

I ask you to respect our privacy during this difficult time.

I will complete my term as State Representative, which ends next January, and I will continue to fight for smaller, smarter government.

Thank you for your support and your prayers.

In Liberty,

Elizabeth Scott

Message from Supporter: DelBene’s Visit to Cuba Proof of Need for Change

I received the following message from one of my supporters, regarding my opponent’s recent visit to the Communist nation of Cuba. I thought I’d share it with you!   – Elizabeth “Congresswoman Suzan DelBene recently snuck off to communist Cuba with President Obama and Nancy Pelosi – a trip which she made sure to keep a … Continue reading Message from Supporter: DelBene’s Visit to Cuba Proof of Need for Change »

Today, on the day of the Congressional budget deadline, Elizabeth Scott, candidate for Congress, released the following statement: “This morning, America woke up to find that, yet again, Congress had betrayed the people by failing to pass a budget. The number-one priority for Congress, at this time, should have been to review, amend, and pass … Continue reading What, No Budget? Big Shock. »

It’s Been an Emotional Week.

This has been a week of incredulity, of tragedy, and of tragedy remembered. On Monday, we saw President Obama, my opponent the incumbent Suzan DelBene, and many other members of the U.S. Congress with Communist dictator Raul Castro in Cuba. We saw them all standing in front of a looming image of racist, cold-blooded killer, Che … Continue reading It’s Been an Emotional Week. »

Happy news today! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement. Today I had an appointment with a top GI/pancreatic specialist at UW. He believes the cystic neoplasm in my pancreas is most likely nothing to worry about; I will have an MRI in a few months to keep an eye on it. In other news, my abdominal pain is being controlled by muscle relaxers but UW GI doc thinks I might have torn my abdominal wall during the pertussis coughing in late February, and he suggested a shot of Lidocaine. I sure hope that works. Meanwhile, I am resting a lot and enjoying time with my family. Today we bought tickets for Libby and me to go visit my folks for ten days in Illinois. Can't wait! Love to visit the farm in summer time...looking forward to hugging my Mom and Dad!! ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you all for your understanding, your words of encouragement, and most of all, for your prayers. The doctors are trying to figure out what's wrong. I've had GI issues and abdominal pain for the past two months, since my bout with pertussis. The daily pain, the appointments for tests and procedures, the repeated blood tests, all of it is taking an awful lot of time and energy, and doesn't leave enough stamina or time for the campaign. I need to rest and I need to get my health back. As part of that rest, I won't be endorsing a candidate in this race, but I do encourage my team members to help any candidate who will fight hard for smaller, smarter government. ...
